God has used clouds for various meanings and purposes throughout the Bible. He used them to represent His presence to Moses, to cover the Tabernacle, to guide the Israelites, to represent His anger, to overshadow Jesus on the Mount of Transfiguration, and to signal Jesus’ return, to name a few. Here are some Scripture references to check out:

Exodus 33:9 – And it came to pass, when Moses entered the tabernacle, that the pillar of cloud descended and stood at the door of the tabernacle, and the LORD talked with Moses.
Numbers 9:15 – Now on the day that the tabernacle was raised up, the cloud covered the tabernacle, the tent of the Testimony; from evening until morning it was above the tabernacle like the appearance of fire.
Numbers 9:17 – Whenever the cloud was taken up from above the tabernacle, after that the children of Israel would journey; and in the place where the cloud settled, there the children of Israel would pitch their tents.
Isaiah 29:6 – I, the LORD of Heaven’s Armies, will act for you with thunder and earthquake and great noise, with whirlwind and storm and consuming fire.
Matthew 17:5 – While he was still speaking, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them; and suddenly a voice came out of the cloud, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. Hear Him!”
Luke 21:27 – Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.
Revelation 1:7 – Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. Even so, Amen.

Oftentimes, God shows me clouds in my visions and sometimes I assume they represent one thing when in turn they represent something else. In order to not lean on my understanding (and interpret incorrectly), I have learned to simply ask Him instead.

Back in September, I was having some sweet God-time and He asked me to lean back and listen for His heartbeat. As I did, I saw wind swirling and then saw a tornado. I was then caught up in it, being spun in all directions. I couldn’t seem to get control. I then asked the Lord what it meant and He replied, “What your natural eyes see and your ears hear can put you in an emotional state that tosses you to and fro, swirling you in all directions. I say, look up and fix your gaze on Me, the Author and Perfecter of your life.”

I looked up to the Lord and was instantly on the ground with firm footing – no storm, no tornado, just a state of calmness, with clear blue skies and white cumulus clouds around me. Next, I turned to my right and saw a huge mountain. As I gazed up, I noticed the tip reached into the clouds so I couldn’t see the top. I then heard the Lord call me to come up higher and see from His perspective. Oftentimes, I am instantly at the top when I respond to His call, but this time I ascended the mountain one step at a time, climbing the rough terrain. I saw myself making great strides and at other times, slipping and hanging on while gripping with all the strength I had. I then saw a cloud push behind me giving me momentum and when I slipped, it was steady beneath my feet to catch me if I fell. The Lord then reached out His hand to me, to grab hold of, and lifted me to my feet.

I heard myself declare in my spirit, “I am safe and secure in Your calling, Lord. I have nothing to fear.” I was reminded of His Word in 2 Samuel 22:30 – “In Your strength I can crush an army; with my God I can scale any wall.” Also Isaiah 41:10 – “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”

I continued to ascend the mountain very quickly, scaling it with ease. I reached the top and looked all around. The view was so vast. It was mainly clear except in one area where I saw lightning flashing in a storm cloud which continued growing larger and wider. I asked the Lord where this storm was located and heard Him say, “It is over the United States, My Child. With My victory there will be storms within the government, the media, education, entertainment, and the rest of the 7 mountains of influence [family, religion, and business], as many scramble and pull others down trying to gain their footing. Others will scramble for a platform to share their explanation or better yet excuse and justification. Yet, My Children and the masses will not fall for it as I will lift their veils and they shall truly see. Some will see for the very first time in their adult life – the lies of the deceiver and what he has orchestrated in these mountains of influence. And I will replace the leaders in each one, with My chosen people.”

Isaiah 2:2 – “Now it shall come to pass in the latter days that the mountain of the Lord’s house shall be established on the top of the mountains.”

The Lord continued, “The enemy is attempting to cause as much havoc as possible because he knows he is defeated. Many will fall and many will pull others down with them. Many will even take their life which is why it is vital for My intercessors to pray for their salvation. Others will be eliminated by their own groups. There is a contingency plan in place and there will be several eliminated from top positions – both physically and eternally. Therefore, I urge My Children to pray for repented hearts to turn from their evil ways and surrender to Me before it is too late. But, fear not. I win.

“I call My Children to arise from the chaos and confusion by looking up to Me for I am your only true source of wisdom, guidance, and understanding. Do not let the clouds of confusion and deception paralyze you from acting on My commands, for these are only smoke screens. And with one short breath, I shall remove them from your view. I call you to climb higher to see from My perspective to receive My mandates and blueprints. Come and pick up your mantle for the time is NOW.

“Press in. Seek Me. Linger longer. Ask and you shall receive. I am calling. Who shall stand and respond, ‘Yes, Lord. Your servant is listening.’ And who shall declare, ‘Yes, Lord. Send me!’?

“Arise and let My Light shine for it is time. The tables are turning. The tide has shifted. Do you not see it? Do you not sense it? I have already begun. Come draw closer My Children. I have much to share with you. The time is now for this is My kairos moment.”
